Hello,
This is the SadServers newsletter, introducing new challenges designed to improve your skills and grow your Linux and DevOps abilities.
It hasn't been that long but we already have six new scenarios, all pretty good and realistic!
New scenarios:
- "Kampot": A New Port – an Easy Linux scenario; make a service on a port available in another port, standard sysadmin work.
- "Kampala": Strange Script Error – an Easy/Medium scenario. If you've been around for a long time you probably have come across this issue.
- "Bondo": Split my pile! – Medium to Hard challenge. Quite an interesting scenario, you need to debug an application crashing.
- "Amygdala": Do you have enough insight to see the secrets? – scenario of Medium difficulty if you are familiar with Kubernetes and Hashicorp Vault, otherwise it's more of a Hard one. I did learn quite a bit here about managing k8s Secrets with Vault :-)
- "Rio de Janeiro": Do we have another option? – This is a realistic Java challenge. If you work with Java it will be quite easy, otherwise you'll have to investigate a bit, still using the usual troubleshooting principles.
- "Atlantis": Not found – A Medium Docker multi-stage build challenge, very practical and quite realistic. This one needs a Pro account because it needs Internet connection (server with public IP) in order to pull Docker images or Linux packages.
We are going to keep adding new challenges every few weeks and we'd love to hear your feedback about these ones or any other ones you want to see implemented.
I also suggest you checkout the DevOps Bulletin , a great source for all things DevOps.
Cheers,
Fernando
