New scenarios:

• Budapest : an easy/medium sysadmin task; create users with passwords from a text file.
• Tokelau : an easy/medium challenge inspired by this nixCraft article, how do I remove all occurrences of a specific word from my command history? in our case we added a bit of difficulty by saving the current session command history as well.
• Zaragoza : a medium/hard scenario. You may have not seen before this technique that allows us to make changes to critical files (say configuration files under /etc ) and test them in a safe way before actually making the changes. Kind of like making a .bak file etc but way better, I did not know this :-)

New technology:

SadServers scenarios running in Kubernetes: We are building new back-end infra and code to support more complex scenarios that simple one-VM ones. The final objective is to create an "SRE Incident Simulator" and the first working piece is an API that creates scenarios out of pod or Helm definitions, in a Kubernetes cluster. Three single-pod scenarios (Saint John, Budapest and Tokelau) run with this new back-end stack and the immediate advantage is that on click, the scenario is immediately ready (2-3 seconds typically).

New Subscription Plan:

We have launched a Business Plan, this allows companies to carry out job interviews by inviting candidates to SadServers scenarios and following their performance. Organizations can also use this plan for internal training or events. If you have a Pro subscription, you can try the Business Plan for free.

Other:

• Reminder: if your company has a professional development or training budget, you can have them pay for your Pro plan.
• Technical interviews for DevOps (and in general) tend to be terrible, we can do better.
